Aviv Sharon, Ph.D. Student
Aviv J. Sharon is a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Education in Technology and Science at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
Sharon holds a B.Sc. in Biology (2011, cum laude) and a B.Sc.Ed. in Science Education – Biology (2012, summa cum laude) from the same institution, as well as an M.Sc. in Life Sciences from the Weizmann Institute of Science (2015).
He has also taught biology and biotechnology at a public high school in Haifa, Israel.
His Ph.D. work characterizes science literacy on health-related Q&A Facebook groups. Specifically, Aviv seeks to understand dialogue between experts and laypeople on health issues as experienced by participants from both groups, and explore the impact these groups have on lay participants’ lives.
His interests include science communication, science education, psychology, linguistics, web and UI design, urbanism and improvisation theater.
