The International Science Journalism Mission to Israel (Video) and the Fifth Israeli Science Communication Conference (Videos) took place at Tel Aviv University on November 3-11, 2013.
Our guest speakers at the conference included Prof. Ruth Arnon, president of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, who spoke about developing vaccines and public health, followed by a panel on the Polio vaccine crisis in the Israeli media, and by a talk by Jorge Cham, the creator of PhD Comics. German Journalist Sascha Karberg spoke of his Experimental Science Journalism, and an expert panel discussed the special place of archeology in Israel between science and politics.
On the second day of the conference, our international guests offered hands-on workshops for scientists and journalists, and attended the academic lectures in the research track. The full program in English can be found here.
