Check out this profile of Ayelet on the Technion website: “Grades should serve the learning process”.
Ayelet was quoted as saying:
“I worry that at the Technion sometimes we forget the difference between grading and teaching. It is a mistake to think that if everyone is succeeding then we have blundered along the way or vice versa – if everyone is doing poorly then the course level is very high. My goal is to teach so that everyone understands. If all my students were to receive an ‘A+’ I would have a great sense of achievement.”

Ayelet won the Yanai Prize for Excellence in Academic Education. This prize is awarded by the Technion in appreciation of:
“[…] faculty members, who set an example through their endless contributions to teaching and learning and for their efforts to improve student involvement and sense of belonging to the Technion.”
Eleven faculty members won this year. Each won NIS 100,000 (over $25,000)!

Ayelet has been appointed chair of the research committee of the “Second Authority for Television and Radio”, the public authority that supervises commercial broadcasting in Israel.
For more information, see the related story on Hebrew news website Walla!, where Ayelet was quoted as saying:
“I have special interest in supporting processes that will make the Israeli media a more reliable source of information about health and science, and I am sure that for that purpose, it would be helpful to know what’s being done in this area in other countries, and to gauge public opinion in Israel on this topic.”
