Jordana (Yardaena) Portman is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Education in Science & Technology at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Her research, under the supervision of Prof. Ayelet Baram-Tsabari, focuses on measuring the impact of social media and visuals on knowledge, behaviors, and environmental attitudes. She is especially interested in the impacts of marine science communication.
Jordana received her B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from SUNY Binghamton in 2022 and her M.P.S. in Marine Biology & Ecology from the University of Miami in 2024. She hopes to expand her research to focus on use of visuals and social media to communicate complex marine-related topics.
