We gathered in Hanover to rethink science communication in the age of AI
As part of the ALIES project, we brought together 30 brilliant researchers from across the globe for a three-day Scoping Workshop in Hanover, Germany. Our focus: how AI is reshaping science, science communication, and education. Today, AI is no longer just a tool. It is becoming a collaborator, shaping how knowledge is produced and shared, from generating hypotheses and designing experiments to analyzing data and even writing manuscripts. This shift raises big questions about the future of science and society. At the Xplanatorium Herrenhausen, with the generous support of the Volkswagen Foundation, we tackled these questions in an inspiring setting, drawing on expertise from science communication, education, AI research, and beyond
